  I was seen on Monday for a urinary tract infection, gave a urine sample and given antibiotics. Day 3 and I'm no better so I rang to ask whether the antibiotics prescribed were susceptible or resistant to my infection. I was told to make an another appointment 7 days after being seen for my results (by the doctor on Monday). So, I would be taking the antibiotics resistant to my infection for 7 days with 1) no relief and 2) further possible damage. I was told because I havent been to that surgery for 2 years the doctors wouldnt tell me over the phone due to "privacy policies". I work in a Hospital - you know how to ask the right questions for confidentiality! I was told I have to go back for another appointment. This is pure money making. There is absolutely no reason why a doctor (any one of them) couldnt write out a script and have one of their nurses ring to tell me to pick it up. And why hasnt the nurse or one of the doctors rung me to say I need to go in before next Monday? Very poor patient care/follow up!
